Missing Spouse Page

This will be one of the slower growing pages. In all the county books I have encountered, they all have a few records with missing spouses.

If you know the name of the spouse,please let me know so I can fill in the blanks.

For example: John Smith died April. 1. 1700 and named his daughter Elizabeth Johnson as his Heir. So we know that Elizabeth was married in 1700 to a man named Johnson. But we don't know Mr. Johnson''s first name.

Therefore, we are "missing" his first name.  

Then I have some counties that just recorded the "males" or "females" name.

Therefore, the spouse is truly missing.

On  your web page under "missing spouses", the spouse for Archibald Bruce with William Moore Bruce surety was Ridley Best, daughter of Henry Best.  This was found in NORFOLK COUNTY VA REVOLUTIONARY WAR & WAR OF 1812 PENSIONS, p 7.  BEST, John - 16 November 1830 which states that John died without issue and had an uncle Henry whose only living heirs was 4 grandchildren, one of which was William Bruce, son of Ridley Best, wife of Archibald Bruce.  Hope this helps.  Thanks

GEORGE ROBERTSON DENNIS AND LOUISA ANNE SMITH JOYNES (NOT JOYNER) WERE MARRIED DECEMBER 4, 1844.  THEY WERE MY GREAT-GREAT GRANDPARENTS.  ALSO ON THIS PAGE YOU HAVE LISTED A RACHEL UPSHUR MARRYING A BAYLY.  MY BOOK STATES THAT RACHEL DIED UNMARRIED AND THAT A SALLY UPSHUR MARRIED RICHARD D. BAYLY ON NOVEMBER 8, 1800.  MY BOOK COVERS THE DENNIS, UPSHUR, LITTLETON, AND TEACKLE FAMILIES.
