The funeral of the late MRS. ANN MCRAE BAIN took place at TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH yesterday afternoon at 6pm, in the presence of an immense concourse of the friends and relatives of the highly esteemed and greatly beloved lady.

Remains are expected in NORFOLK by O.D. STEAMER D. this evening and will be buried from the Freemason Street Baptist Church at 10am sat.

THE FUNERAL OF JACKSON EASTHAM ESQ TOOK PLACE YESTERDAY AFTERNOON FROM THE FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH and was attended by a large number of his immediate friends and aquaintances, as well as many others who desired to pay tribute.......... The remains were conveyed to SUFFOLK by special train for inrtement. He was 38.

YESTERDAY MORNING AS THE ELZABETH CITY AND NORFOLK RAIL ROAD EXCURSIONS TRAIN FROM BERKLEY WAS NEAR HICKORY GROVE STATION, A YOUNG MAN NAMED HENRY FATHERLY FELL OF THE CARS AND WAS VERY SERIOUSLY HURT. FATHERLY WAS LEANING AGAINST ONE OF THE GUARDS ON A FLAT CAR WHEN THE SUPPORT GAVE WAY AND THREW HIM OUT WHILE THE TRAIN WAS GOING AT THE RATE OF ABOUT 18 MILES PER HOUR. THE TRAIN CONTUED ON HICKORY GRAVE AND A HAND CAR WAS SENT BACK FOR THE WOUNDED MAN. A PHYSCIAN WAS SENT FOR AND FATHERLY WAS FOUND TO HAVE SUSTAINED SERIOUS INTERNAL INJURIES. THE DOUNED MAN WAS KEPT AT THE RAILS STATION UNTIL THE EXCURSION TRAINS RETURNED LAST EVENING WHEN HE WAS BROUGH BACK TO BERKLEY

A COLORED MAN WHO WAS SUPPOSED TO BE WILLIS BURDEN OF CHATTANOOGA TENN. WHILE STANDING ON HIGH STREET YESTERDAY MONRING FELL SUDDENLY TO THE GROUND IN GREAT PAIN. DR. F. S. HOPE WAS IMMEDIATELY SUMMONED AND PROUNCED IT A CASE OF HEART DISEASE AND ADMINISTERED THE PROPER MEDICINES TO THE SUFFERE WHO WAS AFTERWARDS SENT TO THE ALMSHOUSE FOR TREATMENT. HE IS IN VERY CRITICAL CONDTIONS AND HAS NO ACQUAINTEANCES IN THIS CITY.

THE REMAINS OF MRS. ROBERT B. BAYLOR WHOSE DEATH WAS ALLUDED TO IN OUR LAST ISSUE ARRIVED HERE YESTERDAY MORNING FROM BALITMORE ON THE STEAMER VA OF THE BALTIMORE STEAM PACKET COMPANYA ND WERE CONVEYED TO CHRIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH FROM WHICH THE FUNERAL TOOK PALCE AT 11AM.

ON FRIDAY afternoon REV. R.C. TACK at the CHRISTIAN CHURCH at DEEP CREEK, Died suddenly after an illiness of only 36 hours. MR. T. was born in HALIFAX COUNTY and removed to NORFOLK COUNTY some 8 years ago as the pastor of providence and other neighboring churches. Lately he has been engaged in teaching school at the place of his deceased.
