I'm in that mood I get in everyonce and a while, where no book I pick up satisfies me.
I tried cathy clamps and didn't care for it. And I tried susan rae's heartbeats and didn't care for it. And sharon mckenna's edge of midnight and didn't like that either.
I was loosing up a bit with teresa medeiros vampires, and a few of her others, but i'm in a rut.......
I've been thinking about how desperately I need employment, and been spending time with applications etc. and nothing.
I'm going to go and read Laurell........... again, for the 100th time. maybe it will make me feel better.

this is definately going to take a few books to sort out. hopefully it will be a good series. i'm going to go hunting for the 2nd book shadows in the starlight. i've only seen one review so far and it was negative. but i'm going to wait and judge for myself.
I liked the first book and was waiting for her and IAN to get better acquainted............. which really didn't happen.
reminded me of anita and jean claude in the first few books.... (such a tease)

So I'm reading Christine Feehan's DRAKE SISTERS SERIES. I like coming into a series when several books have already been written. So if you know of a good paranormal series that has a long standing series let me know.
nyvagenealogy@yahoo.com
So anyway, I read Magic in the Wind or Lover Beware and Twlight Before. And then got half way through Oceans of fire before I lost it in fustration and jumped ahead to safe harbor because the Jonas and Hannah thing was driving me nuts.
Now the Joley and russian is going to drive me crazy. I will have to check her website to see when that book is coming out. She's such a tease with this series. It makes me want to scream.
Oh well, changed or actually added YAHOO to my email. Since AOL doesn't send me my email.
It's so fustrating sometimes to get email DAYS, MONTHS LATE.
OH well.

So what kind of books do you like to read?
Mysteries?
Historical?
Romance?
Paranormal?
I just finished one of Stephanie Lauren's latest Bastion club series. I'd swear I'd read it before. Story Line was similiar to one of the CYNSTER stories. I am waiting, and it's probably going to be a year or two............ for the climax of the series when the Head guy's identity is revealed. Until then we have to be patient.
Also Keri Arthur's Riley series is good but you really have to like "adult situations" to read these.
For those of you who like prehistoric or civil war era books like Gone with the wind, I recommend Jean M. Auel and Diana Gabaldon. Both women write very long books near 1000 pages each and both are series.

If you like Regency Books Then you have to read Stephanie Laurens, and fall in Love with DEVIL. It's a very lengthy series, those cynsters. However, I wish we'd see more of the main 7 in the later novels.
Catherine Coulter's Savich in her FBI series reminds me a little of DEVIL. And so does Janet Evanovich's Ranger! Christine Feehan's Mikahl also has some of Devil's qualities as does the head of Johanna Lindsey's Malory Series.
If you really would like a SAGA to read, you've got to read Bertrice Small's SKYE O'MALLEY series. It's one of the few times you will follow a character from birth to death over a series of books. And what an adventureous life SKYE leads.

Found a new author the other day, well not new as in new writer, but new to me.
Dee Davis and her last chance series. it's kinda like a cia covert operations kind a book mystery with some romance mixed in. It was really good. It's a trilogy, and actually at the end there are two characters that have not been paired. so i wrote to her and said what about harrison and cullens? don't they deserve a book?
Haven't heard back yet.
Also found Tracy Anne Warren. Cute Regency romancy books that followed a series too.
Tried to read Sharon Cullars - object of love. and it did not happen. it was too "Mrs. Robinson for me with a weird twist" You know the I fell in love with my best friends mother? and my best friend is dead or not? living in the "In between" and trying his ghostly hardest to break us up.
I got about 2-3 chapters in and then listed on ebay.
Yuck!

There are a few things in life that I can't live without.
Of course the most important thing is my family, what's left of it.
The other things are books, and genealogy.
If I am not doing genealogy then I am reading.
My #1 author of course is Laurell K. Hamilton and unfortunately every book I read gets compared to hers.
I always recommend Janet Evanovich to the general public, because grandma Mazur makes me laugh. I know the titles to Janet's books by heart because they are numbered 1-14. Can't wait for 14 on fire next year.
But anyway, I read Janet Like I said because she makes me laugh, otherwise I might not. There are some days THE PG ness gets to me and I find my self wishing stephanie was a little more like Merry Gentry and other times I find myself wishing she was more like Anita Blake and kick some "butt" and arrest the perp the first time around. Also when you read Janet Evanovich you need to keep some healthy snacks around. As I live around the block from a krispy kreme and everytime I smell those donuts I think of Janet. If you have ever read a Janet book you'll understand.
See the book page for titles and reading order.
