ISSUES:
1. LIFE- Every now and then I get in these moods, not really depressed, but not really happy either. Did you ever take the time to think about things? We had a local woman around 25 years old stop at the store one day probably on the way home from work to probably pick up some last minute items for a trip she was going to be taking, when she was shot and killed in the parking lot.
It's just one of those things, that you never know.
Don't you wish it was cheaper & easier to adopt a child?
They have all these children around the world that need good homes, but instead of making the process faster, they make it longer and more expensive.
2nd issue, A woman found ancestor's grave yard was going under literally for construction of a condo unit.
She tried calling everyone in the city to help and they didn't. Maybe if she was a rich person they might have listened to her. Finally she got some help from the historical society, still not sure what the end results will be.

I GOING TO BE HONEST AND ADMIT I HAVE AN ADDICTION. I AM ADDICTED TO LAURELL K. HAMILTON ANITA BLAKE BOOKS.
I CAN'T SEEM TO GET ENOUGH OF THEM. I HAVE READ EACH ONE IN THE SERIES ABOUT 5X A PIECE IN THE LAST 2 YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED THEM.

THERE ARE SOME DAYS WHEN I ENJOY BEING DIFFICULT AND THIS IS ONE OF THEM. SOMEONE EMAILED ME WITH A NAME FOR A LOOK UP. NO COUNTY, JUST A DATE.
SO I HAD TO EMAIL BACK. WHICH COUNTY????
25% of the time I get a response and 75% of the time I don't.
What some of you don't know is that I currently run 3 websites, 1 is 100% mine and 2 I am the ADMIN of. Now before all this I "was" AN ADMIN of 3 websites belonging to the genealogy exchange, which is sometimes running and sometimes not. These websites were NORFOLK, PAC AND GOOCHLAND. Plus I still have postings for several counties on the gen forum.
Plus i have some postings from New York obits website. And some postings on the www.longislandgenealogy.com website.
So emailing me with just a name is not good. I have been very successfull however with people following the instructions on the NORFOLK. I have been pretty impressed. I really need to do that will all the sites.
The norfolk site says " ON YOUR NORFOLK WEBSITE PAGE DATE TO DATE I FOUND XYZ ANCESTOR" AND WOULD LIKE DETAILS.
AND LOTS OF people have been following instructions. I wish I'd thought of it YEARS ago, save a lot of time now. Even I have no clue how many acutal postings i have out there.
But I have to wonder why people never respond to my WHICH COUNTY? are they upset that I am not a mind reader?

PERSONAL BLOG TODAY.
My mentally retarded brother worked for 10 years for Community Alternatives stocking shelves at the Navy Grocery Store.
When Community Alternatives lost the contract to Pride Industries, Pride said no one would lose a job. Three months later when the Contract Went into affect, Pride fired all the mentally retarded or handicapped individuals who were unable to drive themselves to work due to the fact that they were not going to be providing transportation. (They worked overnight, when the Store was closed).
The City of Virginia Beach was "kind" enough to find my brother a new job working for GOODWILL INDUSTRIES, thrift store, with 2 catches.
1. He made LESS than mininum wage until recently he was making $3.65 now with an increase over the summer to $5.15 an hour. (While working for community alternatives he was making much more.)
2. WE HAVE TO REIMBURSE THE CITY OF VIRGINIA BEACH FOR PROVIDING SUPERVISION WHILE he is on site.
It's been 3 years and I still don't understand why we have to pay the SUPERVISORS SALARY?
Have you ever paid your supervisors salary?
Because of his raise they now want $2.77 per day x 5 =13.85 wkly
or $13.85 x 4 weeks a month=$55.40
or 664.80 a year. If i did it right it's 8.33% of his salary.
What would you do if you had to PAY BACK your employer $55.40 of your salary a month?
if anyone has any ideas let me know.
