A PITFUL CASE OF INFANTILE MARRIAGE CAME TO LIGHT IN THE ADAMS STREET POLICE COURT YESTERDAY. AN ITALIAN GIRL NAMED FRANCESCA CARBONA, 11 YEARS OLD WAS FOUND WANDERING IN THE VICINITY OF PROSPECT PARK BY A PLICEMAN ON WED. SHE WAS TURNED OVER TO THE CHILDREN'S SOCIETY. IN COURT YESTRDAY. IN BROKEN ITALIAN AND THROUGH AN INTERPRETER FOR STORY WAS HEARD. HER FATHER HAS BEEN IN THIS COUNTRY FOR A YEAR AND HER MOTHER IS DEAD. FIVE MONTHS AGO HE SEND FOR HER AND SHE FOUND A STEPMOTHER TO WELCOME HER.
HER FATHER TOLD HER SHE SAID THAT THE HAD A HUSBAND PICKED OUT FOR HER AND IF SHE DIDN'T LIKE HIM HE WOULD SHOOT HER THROUGHT THE HEART. FOUR MNTHS AGO SHE MARRIED TO GIOVANNI LARGIGLIO BY THE REV. PIETRO SAPONARA, OF THE CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL, IN THE EASTERN DISTRICT, WHO WAS TOLD THAT SHE WAS 20. HER HUSBAND BEGAN TO ABUSE HER. SHE ASSERTS AND SHE THREATENED TO RUN AWAY. HE KICKED HER AND CLUBBED HER AND ON TUESDAY HE TIED HER TO A BED POST AND LEFT HER WITH NOTHING TO EAT FROM NOON TO MIDNIGHT. ON WED SHE RAN AWAY AND WANDERED ALONG THE EASTERN PARKWAY. ON HER BODY WERE BRUISES AND SHE WORE A WEDDING RINGH. THIS SHE PULLED OFF IN COURT AND THREE UPON THE FLOOR STAMPING UPON IT. THE GIRL WAS REMANED TO THE CARE OF THE SOCIETY UNTIL THE HUSBAND AND FATHER CAN BE FOUND.
