FEB 19 1866
OLD ST. PAUL'S- Regular service were renewed in this church yesterday, after a long
interval, by the Rev. Okeson, who preached from the text of St. John's first epistle. The congregation was full and no doubt, delighted in resuming their old seats and listening to the voice of their pastor when the walls of the old but renovated church. 

FEB 26 1866
Interesting meetings have been held for the past two weeks in the Court street Baptist Church, Portsmouth, now under the popular pastoral care of the Rev. John L. Johnson. The pastor has been assisted by the Rev. Messrs. Pritchard of Petersburg, and Hume and Dobbs, of Portsmouth. quite a number have professed conversion and united with the church. The Rev. Mr. Pritchard will probably preach every night during the present week.

The Rt. Rev. John Johns Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Virginia, will preach on tomorrow, Sunday morning, in St. John's Church, Portsmouth. (rest not readable)

ST. JOHN'S CHURCH PORTSMOUTH- The Right Rev. John Johns, Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal Church in Virginia, preached in this church yesterday morning, as had been announced to a large congregation. The test of the Right Reverend Father's discourse was, Strive to enter in at the straight gate, . The venerable divine seemed to have lost none of his vim and attractive manner and was listened to with marked attention. He was eloquent and impressive.
